Making Tesla coil with Flyback TV transformer and energizing tube light wirelessly



Here comes long awaited experiment into fruition- Tesla coil

Tesla coil or Air core resonant transformer is trick to attract and excite energy within its surrounding with powerful electric field created by high voltage of high frequency. Recreating the stuff that Tesla already did is rather simple, but its operation is quite complex.A flimsy touch of trouble can be felt when it comes to caliberation of spark gape and dimensions of coil. If those parameters are wrong, coil will not work or its efficiency will be greatly threatened.



What I believe where resonance comes,we must be worried! Playing with frequency domain is not child's play.
I do not know how this exactly works, but this experiment is quite interesting. Do not miss the scene where  i am touching coil and sparks are getting onto my finger but this high voltage doing nothing to me!
I would love to hear more about this nifty thing if somebody has got something to tell.

Fatty Things you need:
-555 timer
-Flyback TV Transformer
-28 gauge wire for secondary of tesla coil
-Plastic/PVC pipe of min 2 inch diameter


Make high voltage input for Tesla coil with flyback transformer using following circuit:



 

Now wind the 28 gauge wire on a plastic pipe with dia of at least 2in, after that, make primary winding having 4 to 6 turns with diameter double to that of secondary winding.

    the very high frequency of flyback tran.(15-34Khz) causes the voltage sparks to travel on the surface of yout skin- what is knovn as skin effect. the flyback transformer frequency is also multiplied by the second transformer, so you get mutch higher values then 30khz.
    i'm not familiar with the details so it might not be 100% thrue .

  3. i too love HV especially from flybacks since they are safer than most such as MOT. but i hate how the transistors suffer from heat and spikes. I therefore use an electronic lighting ballasts, my favourite? the Advance Centium Instant Start electronic Ballast ICN-2P32-N. bigger arcs.
    Find the primary pins by testing resistance of the pins with a DMM.
